Grandparents

I grew up knowing just one of my grandparents, my GG. She was my mothers, mother. Stood 4ft 9 inches and Cherokee Indian. She sat with me and my brother a lot when we were kids, she never drove so we walked everywhere. She took me to my first movie, Popeye, bought me a Wonder Woman doll that had to be 2 ft tall, and worried about me and my wandering ways. I probably wasn't an easy child to tend too, I had to constantly be busy, that hasn't changed any, so I would wander...walking all over town looking for adventure or something to do. Most of the time it was something to do, there were no "adventures" where I was from. I would upset her so much because I would forget to tell her where I was going...problem was...I never knew where I was headed.

My GG was never a real collector of things or shopper so finding items that reflect my grandmother is difficult. She loved it when we made her things. I could crochet lines, couldn't connect them, so I would get all these lines together and tie them at the top and bottom and she would hang them on the wall for me. She had lots of them on the walls, it was my specialty. Mud hand prints were also a biggy for me she used them as ashtrays. She loved watching Perry Mason and Andy Griffith and she slept with a 38 short nose revolver.

I miss my GG very much but know that she is looking down on me making sure I don't wander too far and if I do she redirects me back home.

My GG loved the color Orange so this Amberina would have been a favorite of hers.

I have tried to be very versatile in my store, having a background that tends to lean more into the collectibles categories like comics and cards; it has been both enjoyable and intense in learning about all the other items I now carry in my store. I had no idea how many patterns of glass there was or makers of porcelain or china. I never knew what ephemera was or that people collect bookmarks. With summertime weather comes the outdoor grilling, and with Monday being Memorial Day I am sure there was lots of it going on. I know we did our fair share. Family

Family, well isn't that a broad term now a days, use to be that family was the people in your life that your parents were related to thus you were as well. Aunts, uncles, cousins or grandparents, blood related family. But the scope of the family has evolved, regrouped and just plain blew up boundaries. I have a nice blood family, with that being said we are not close, we don't call share tweets or even facebook for that matter, but they are my family.

I have a more non-traditional family built of people who I enjoy being around and who enjoy being around me, I now have siblings I share weekly get together with either via the internet or in person. We share holidays, birthdays and even sorrow together. Knowing that this non-traditional family is here for me blesses and enriches my life on a daily basis.

I am proud to say that some of my family members share a common place with me at ESN. We have seen each other through good and bad times. We care for each other and our lives outside of a business forum, and we treat each other like family. I thank each and everyone of them for being there for me. Cuz lets face it, I am needy! Haaaaaa

A comic book sometimes called a funny book is a magazine made up of comics, narrative artwork in the form of separate panels that represent individual scenes, often accompanied by dialog (usually in word balloons, emblematic of the comic book art form) as well as including brief descriptive prose.

The first comic book appeared in the United States in 1932, reprinting the earlier newspaper comic strips, which established many of the story-telling devices used in comics. The term "comic book" arose because the first comic books reprinted humor comic strips. Despite their name, however, comic books do not necessarily operate in humorous mode; most modern comic books tell stories in a variety of genres. In the US, the most common genre is Superhero. ~ wikipedia

People collect comics for many reasons: Money, Authors, Covers, Rarity and nostalgia. Most are limited to area and money as to how much or how little they collect. The internet has helped open the door to finding more elusive comics or just a artist in particular.

When collecting remember a few things, if you are collecting to keep versus reading then make sure you get the equipment needed to keep your comics in pristine condition; like Back boards and Sleeves. This will keep dirt and debris out of your comic as well as keep them from getting bent. Make sure you get proper storage boxes as well, these will be found at most comic retailers.

Remember that when collecting to always check around for pricing, condition and dependability. You have the right to question, look and research your purchases, sometimes if it seems too good to be true....it is.

I love comics and the reflection of cultural and historical times that they coincide with, its a fun way to enjoy a good Superhero and see how our political and sociological behaviors have changed through the years. There was a time when comic were thought of as criminal negligence against our children according to an article from Sterling North a noted Psychologist. Glad we didn't listen to him.

I collect and sell comics, and let me say this it was an easy collection to start, you find your favorites and you run with it. At first I got everything I could get my hands on, and then found there were particular artists and authors I liked more, in doing so I sell the comics I have doubles or triples of or just not into the genre. Star Wars and T-Storm Graphics

About a month ago T-Storm got a really cute Teapot set from me so that her and her grandchild could "do tea". We decided that instead of purchasing that maybe we could do it out in trade, and in doing so she custom made me two graphics. One for Harry Potter and the other for Star Wars, both went into my game room. I love the graphics and they were a cinch to put up. I love the art work deal on the wall, it made it personal and fun. This is actually a game that my family and I like to play together. It is a card game that transforms you into a wizard who can make land, summon creatures and cast spells. We enjoy playing it with friends who come to visit and just as a way to relax.

Not all creatures have abilities or powers, but that doesn't mean to count them out, it just means they are tiny ankle biters that will hang on for dear life killing you bit by bit, or it could be some Elemental coming to rip you limb from limb. Either way, your dead if you don't get your wits about you and remove them from the battle field.

Magic is a thinking game, like chess, you have to be three steps ahead of your foe, and calculate their every move, if you don't... well that's the game!

This was a trying blog for me, because as far as the eye can see .... I got Snow, 3 foot of it. So water as inspiring as it should be.... just makes me remember how messy this all will be when it melts. UGH! So on the plus side, instead of doing one about water, I am going to focus on the items that are fun around the water.

This was one of the cute things that I saw when looking for items for the scavenger hunt this week...now even though you wont find this particular basset hound at the beach, you could find it's brother.

Hazel has this adorable Basset Hound figure in her store, he looks so tired bearing the weight of its masters pocket remnants in his tray, but he will pull through!

Anyone who knows me would probably say that this will be the hardest blog for me to date...me and floral prints or styles....hmmmm
I wont say that it isn't a bit difficult for me, its not really something I search for, but I am here to say that it was painful at all. In fact, I really enjoyed stepping out from the norm for me and picking out things I think are beautiful and would be enjoyed by anyone.

I am a weird duck, I suppose, easy to buy for unless I am the one shopping for me, so this blog was a bit harder for me to write than most blogs I can dish out in a few mins. I have been searching and wandering the site for about an hour now trying to find my 2 items.... There are lots of great, interesting and lovely items to shop through, and I found tons for everyone else in my life. Here are the two I narrowed down for me.

Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply "Santa", is a figure which was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, a historical, legendary and mythological figure who in many Western Cultures, is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24 or on his Feast Day, December 6 Saint Nicholas Day. The legend may have part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of gift giver Saint Nicholas. A nearly identical story is attributed by Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea. Basil's feast day on January 1 is considered the time of exchanging gifts in Greece.

While Saint Nicholas was originally portrayed wearing bishop's robes, today Santa Claus is generally depicted as a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots (images of him rarely have a beard with no mustache). This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast this image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television and films. Christmas Card History

A relatively recent phenomenon, the sending of commercially printed Christmas cards originated in London in 1843.

Previously, people had exchanged handwritten holiday greetings. First in person. Then via post. By 1822, homemade Christmas cards had become the bane of the U.S. postal system. That year, the Superintendent of Mails in Washington, D.C., complained of the need to hire sixteen extra mailmen. Fearful of future bottlenecks, he petitioned Congress to limit the exchange of cards by post, concluding, "I don’t know what we’ll do if it keeps on."

Not only did it keep on, but with the marketing of attractive commercial cards the postal burden worsened. The first Christmas card designed for sale was by London artist John Calcott Horsley.

The first Christmas card’s inscription read: "merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you." "Merry" was then a spiritual word meaning "blessed," as in "merry old England." Of the original one thousand cards printed for Henry Cole, twelve exist today in private collections.Today more than two billion Christmas cards are exchanged annually, just within the United States. Day after Thanksgiving

I don't know about everyone else, but the day after Thanksgiving is my cue to start Christmas. It means it is time to go to the attic or basement and dig out your tree, ornaments and decor. I like it because I always forget that I bought new ornaments or decorations from the prior year at a huge discount and put them away for the next year, so its always like opening a present before present day!!!! Yippie!!!!!! In case you cannot tell I get excited about decorating for the holidays.

I have a 9ft tree in the basement, but because my rooms are small, I cannot get it in a room, so I have 2 3 ft trees I use instead. This year I am letting Jess decorate one of the trees any way she wants, and it will of course be Black and Purple. It has turned out really cute, it has purple and clear lights on it, and satin and sparkly ornaments of purple and black snowflakes also sparkly.

We have decorated the banister in multicolored lights and tinsel, with silver bows on each spindle. It helps tie in my tree with Jess's tree, although Jess's tree gets presents under it that are not hers...lol... I had to throw that in, she was thinking she wasn't going to share.

The tree I decorated has multicolored ornaments, both balls and decorative. I have also added some small pick ornaments to the tree and some unique items that I would not usually have or see on a tree, like antique keys, just thought the brass keys would be an nice addition to the tree, and they are cute, I only had 4, I don't like having the same kind of anything on the tree, so I only put a few on anyway and the keys made a nice addition. I also decorated the window behind it to look like a present, so that is cute as well.

We have Santa in a few places and a family of snow people, as well as light up figures. Outside we are just getting started, but we plan on having our 12ft Grinch blow up out and running on the side yard, as well as candy cane striping the front porch. We have added Tin Soldiers to the mix this year as well. So lots to still do and little time to do it....so I guess I should get off here and get to it!

Harry Potter 7 Part 1

I know that for most grown people the Harry Potter Series might seem a little out there or far fetched, childish whatever the term is....but I am here to disagree 100%.

I have read every book and watched and own every movie that has thus far been out. I find the characters relate-able as well as believable if you take the magic aspects out of the equation. Normal people with normal lives, a boy being raised by family and teachers who care about the well being of students. You add some adventure, romance and even some suspense and you have the movies down pat.

I want to say that so far the last book is shaping up very well in the movie house! I and my 4 companions went to the premiere this past Thursday...in case anyone missed it in any of my status updates...lol We dressed in character and had a wonderful time. I went as the schools now deceased headmaster Professor Dumbledore, Liz went as Professor Mcgonagal, Jess went as Professor Snape, Cinnamon went as Professor Traloney and Vic went as Ron Weezley. Over all the entire experience was EXCELLENT! We were asked to get pictures made with people who were also attending the movie, as well as people driving by noticing us all dressed up and asking as well...we felt like celebrities. This was not mine or Liz's first premiere but it was by far one of the most fun.

I encourage everyone to step out of the stigma that these are movies for kids and see what the wonderful world of Harry Potter has to offer you.

Greeting Cards

Christmas is that time of year when friends and family begin sending cards, I love getting Christmas cards, I have a neat holder of a snowman who keeps them all safe and displays them beautifully. Last year I got a card from a customer who was 11 years old, thanking me for having a toy in stock that her mom loved as a kid. She purchased the doll in August for her mom's birthday in September. This was her first internet purchase and her father helped her with all the "paperwork" (checkout). She was so delighted to find it and in the price range agreed upon with dad. I was taken totally aback when I got the card, as in 10 years of business it was my first card from an online customer. I now carry Christmas cards in my store, but I don't carry the ones that come in boxes or all look the same, I have cards that I get from estate sales and auctions and generally have one or two of. Most of the time they are all from the 60's and 70's but I have come across some 20's and 30's. There is quite an array of cards, whether for Christmas or Confirmation. I love buying them, going through them and posting. There is always such a nice variety and style to choose from. Here are some I have in my store.

I was at an auction a couple weeks ago and came upon a piece of art that I found was unique and beautiful. I am no art connoisseur or even a collector. Generally when I am at an auction and see art, I just walk on by with no regard to it. Just never been my thing. Technically, I didn't really look for this piece of art either, it came by chance. I was sitting with some friends when the piece came up, I heard Australia and glanced up to see what they were talking about. I love the color orange and all things earthy so it caught my eye immediately. Thus began the bidding war. Everyone who knows me was wondering what in the world I was doing, I never buy art, and Liz was just as floored. Bidding done, and I came out the winner!!!!! I couldn't really explain my wanting for this piece of art, but was pleased I had purchased it. 5 Common Facebook
Tactics - That Don't Work!

There are about ten common Facebook marketing tactics. (You can probably think of more, but most are a derivative of one of these ten.) It may surprise you to learn that five of these tactics don't even work -- that's fully half! Now, no Fire God will suddenly appear to smite you if you happen to have done one of the following things. They are definitely mistakes, but they aren't irreversible. In fact, they're really only mistakes in one sense of the word.

My perception of these as "mistakes" isn't about breaches of the unwritten Facebook etiquette either - I dance on those lines myself from time to time.

Rather, I'm calling them mistakes from a perspective of effectiveness, versus the alternative behavior. Whether they're wrong in terms of just coming across as rude or politically incorrect is another matter altogether.

Having said that, off we go.

Mistake #1 - Posting Signature Links on Profile Walls with Your Introduction

I asked someone why they did this once, especially since I'd already been to their site and purchased the item they were selling on that page.

She said: "I saw someone else do it."

"How did it make you feel?" I asked.

"I felt kind of used. But I figured if that's what it takes to be successful, that's what I'll do, even if it doesn't seem quite right."

Now that's deep.

I understand though, because once I made the vow to become successful, I also made a vow to do "whatever it takes". At the time I thought it meant hard selling and being pushy. I later found it meant hard work, and doing what's right even if there's a lazier, easier way.

Even if this was once effective in terms of getting clicks from random profile visits, Facebook is now much more stream-driven than it is profile-driven.

And that's a huge part of why this is a mistake in terms of effectiveness.

Not to mention that people who see these postings as rude or attempts to spam can remove or hide them. They may even drop you as a connection, which cuts you off not just from them, but from their network.

You're not missing out on anything by omitting that signature link. Your name, hyper linked to your profile IS your signature link. If your profile is set up correctly, prospects will get to your site from there.

Mistake #2 - Pitching

If you want to pitch people on Facebook, purchase an ad on Facebook.

It doesn't have to be a Facebook ad - purchase one in a popular Facebook application. No matter how good your elevator pitch is in real life, it doesn't translate in online networking. Let me give you a hypothetical example from the real world.

Imagine you go to an after-work bar. People go there to relax with work friends, to meet potential mates, on actual dates, and to get to know other people in the business.

You're unwinding with colleagues when someone walks up, and without forewarning, tries to sell you some steak knives. When you stare blankly, they shrug, and move on to the next person.

We all may chuckle to ourselves, and wonder what that person is thinking... but are you ever the knife salesman when you're on Facebook?

Honestly, when I first came here, I was tempted to be.

Thank God my better judgment stopped me. I'm telling you that to say this - if you've been the knife salesman don't be ashamed, you didn't know any better. It's not like they issue marketing lessons with your incorporation papers.

Just make a vow, right now, to always check yourself before you post. Ask yourself "Am I Networking or Pitching?"

Mistake #3 - Artificial Bonding

I'd respect a person more who was upfront with me, and said they were hoping we could work together, or do some business, than someone who pretended to care about me in order to get me to have a conversation that they could then direct to their pitch.

I wouldn't purchase from them, at least not then. But at least I'd still respect them, which means I could change my mind in the future.

Pretending to like people until you get the chance to try to sell to them is really just pitching with a little bad foreplay first.

Bad foreplay isn't better than none at all.

Mistake #4 - Favoring Uphill Marketing Over Downhill Marketing

Again, this is a mistake in terms of how effective it is. In my own experience, as well as in case studies of clients, it always works out better when you create a fantastic marketplace presence and people are drawn to you in droves, seeking to do business with you, rathere than the alternative.

The alternative, of course, is when you go out and pursue customers and clients one by one.

That's not to say that you should stop advertising, bidding on projects, or being a go-getter in any way.

It means that while you're doing that, also create a situation where customers are flowing towards you, seeking you out, asking for help.

It's much less work to get from interest to sale when they come to you.

Mistake #5 - Fishing on Dry Land

A long, long time ago, I was in a network marketing company. Now defunct, the products they have greatly enhanced, possibly even saved, my life. The products were targeted to people who cared about being healthier and eco-friendly.

At first, I was so excited about what had happened to me, that I told every single person who would listen. I would try and go product by product and explain how great everything was.

After failing Very Hard for about three months, I narrowed my focus.

I bought a bottle of the mineral complex, and some sample sized containers. Then I gave a sample to every single person I could think of who had a health problem that might be related. Orders started pouring in.

Ever since that day, I have remembered two things. First, the one that’s relevant here – proper targeting greatly increases sales. Secondly, give a free sample of something needed to those most starving for it, and they’ll be back to buy more.

A few well-timed, well-placed interactions with the right profile are the main things you need to do the equivalent of offline networking on Facebook. A great profile is just as important as being appropriately dressed at a networking function offline.

I Think this is such a great game, children as well as adults find it competitive as well as rewarding. Thing is...you don't even have to play the game to love the cards. People collect the cards as much if not more than there are players.

I got into Pokemon cards when my son was around 7, he had older cousins who we bought packs for at Christmas or for Birthdays or any other general Holiday or event. He was so excited for them that he wanted to get some pookie cards as well...it was so cute I had to buy him pookie cards. He of course bent them and wore them to smithereens and had no idea of value or trade worth. He just knew they were what his cousins wanted and so they had to be awesome! After about 4 packs down the proverbial drain I decided that if he wanted to "get" cards that he would have to put them in binders like his cousins and he would have to keep them safe from water and dirt and such, let me say that to a 7 year old this was murderous....heaven forbid he have a toy that is not "touchable". We had rules you see, he was not allowed to touch my collectibles but was always allowed to play with his toys..and I was giving him a toy that was not playable... needless to say...he didn't want pookie cards anymore... well until he was 10 at least, but by then he had a grasp of value and trade worth and did well at keeping his good cards versus the not so good ones. We had books and magazines that told us prices and stuff.

It was then that I had decided that we should open a store that catered to the games like Pokemon, Yugioh, Magic the Gathering, D & D and so forth. We played and still play all the games and collect for the sake of deck building not for the sake of having sets. We enjoy the gaming and it has been a hobby I can do with my son. We are both very competitive and are each others lean too when it comes to how to build decks and play them. Some times we are winners and sometimes we don't win, but either way we have a blast.

I am proud of myself, and to commemorate that I am writing a blog about it. Last week a friend who I first started online selling with decided that she was going to shut down her shop in order to field other endeavors she was more interested in. With her closing shop she gave me her initial inventory and the rights to her pictures and such that she had in her online store. I promptly went to her and obtained the some 200 items that she had online and proceeded to wrap them up and transport them to my office. I asked my niece to help me and in a matter of 6 or so hours had everything wrapped, boxed, labeled and loaded in the van. Pretty excited I began work immediately on the transfer of the items into my store. It has taken me a few days but I am finally finished. Tired, sore and worn out, but finished.

Twitter Promoted Tweets

So there is a lot of buzz going around right now as to Twitters new
"Promoted Tweets". There are both pro attitudes as well as nay
attitudes. We know what the driving force for it is, revenue that's what
makes the world go round. But what impact if any does it have on us as
regular users, I mean we just got into the main stream of twittering,
and the site has a twitter feed, so on and so forth, but what is the end
product for us. I have read several posts and newsletters and here is
what I can decipher.

1. Twitter made deals with MSN and Google to have paid tweet streams post higher than non paid tweets.
2. Some of the advertisers including Starbucks, Virgin, Sony and Best Buy.
3. Each Target Niche Markets.
4. Paid Keyword Advertising.
5. Keyword Bidding, highest bidder winning the keyword.
6. Leading to Ads being in message streams throughout twitter itself.
7. Company over the past year has hired in management teams from Disney, Pixar and Google
itself.
8.Future to make it an IPO Company and Trade-able commodity.

The days of ad free twitter is going to be a thing of the past, the plan is
to place the brand in front of all its users. Ads will be based on
keyword usage. Meaning, if you use a keyword in a tweet or any of your
friends tweet about it, then you get the ad for it. Example, tweet: Good
morning all, sitting have a nice cup of coffee and a bagel to start my
day. Then off to work I go. You will now get ads for coffee and bagels.
Not that you wanted to be spammed with all that junk. I don't think I
would mind a tweet a day or something like that but to continually tweet
me ads will get annoying really quick.

I am not sure if parroting google is the best thing for a social network
that has prided itself on the "people" being the ones in control of
their tweets and streams of tweets coming through their home page. I
mean come on, there are some ads I would never want to see. Some age
appropriate or non age appropriate. For me it is a medium to do
business, and I don't want my page to project my acceptance of a product
or brand unless I myself have said, yes I would do business with this
person or personage. I love promoting my friends at ecrater, but I would
hate to see ads for eBay or some other site on my page. It doesn't
benefit me in any way. I will be keeping a close eye on twitter now and
the news surrounding it and the promotions they choose to use and how.
For now it seems relatively limited only in search's, but the minute
they want to place them on my page, I might have second thoughts.

How I became a collector.

I began collecting things the day my son was born, almost 19 years ago. It was a kind of awakening of some sort. He was here and I truly had nothing to offer the child, or what I thought was of consequence. I was a college student when I got pregnant and very confused as to where my life was heading let alone what I was going to do with a newly acquired child.

The next day after my son arrived, I was walking down to the nursery with some family members when I saw a comic book stand, and thought, well why not, it is an investment after all and would be something most boys are into, so even if he didn't want to collect them, he would more than likely read them. So I bought one of each kind on the spinning stand. My family just kind of laughed at me and then purchased about 10 Little Golden Books.

Needless to say, he never once picked up a comic book, but did wear them Golden Books out! About the time my son turned 13 I showed him all the comics that I had collected for him, and he was amazed, there were over 4000 in our "little" collection. He gawked and oohed at them for about 10 minutes. I was explaining the values and showed him some books I had purchased on Comic Book Collecting, and how they increase (hopefully) in value as they get older and if they are kept in very good condition. Mind you that for the past 13 years I had purchased, bagged and back boarded all 4000+ comics we already owned. He eyed me with a bit of "are you crazy" before letting me know he just was not that interested in "collecting" comics he was in fact a POWER RANGER..... god help me.... So of course, I continued collecting comics, because "Mother Knows Best" and for his birthday's and other said holidays we got POWER RANGERS... then came POKEMON, and YUGIOH, and so on and so forth, until he got into video games... then it was video games, Power Rangers, Pokemon, and Yugioh! Wish I would have had the forethought to keep all those toys around once he grew out of them.

I don't collect comics like I use to, I still buy and sell them, and Have a collection of them, but not like I use to, my son has not taken an interest and I figure It is a great beginning for him if he does decided that he would like to continue with the endeavor. It is a nice little legacy I can hand down to him, or maybe a grandchild....(bite your tongue) not quite ready for that yet!

I do have a collection for myself, I collect Harry Potter memorabilia. Just began this collection round Christmas time, so its pretty small, I look forward to finding all the great things that are floating around out there. The hunt is on.

Why I Love Cyber School

As many of you know, this past Christmas Liz and I drove to Texas to get our 14 year old niece who has now moved in with us, both willingly and happily. Can't say that in December she was so spry!

We chose to keep her home to school and in making that choice had to find a suitable school for her to attend, there are lots of options out there and because most cyber schools are public, they are also free! I want to get the misconception that it costs money to home school kids, it does not. The only things we are out of pocket on are trips and stuff like that which are normal fees you incur when in a regular public school.

After much deliberation we chose 21st Century Cyber Charter School for Jess. The school is no lacky school like some we had encountered. She is tested and challenged on a daily basis and the great thing is, the teachers in all her classes are always there, even in the evenings we have someone we can call in each of her subjects to discuss any problems or misunderstandings she may have. We get progress reports, just like in school. Only difference is everyday, I get to go online and there is a parents place, I can go in and check her daily progress, if there is a problem I can catch it way before the 4 week mark. Meaning every tool I need to help my child succeed is there and it makes it easy to keep her on track.

The teachers also give critiques on everything, and are very positive with her, which is exactly the encouragement she needs. The feedback also helps us to see where her weaknesses are and her strengths, we can then target those areas and fix them, way before there isn't time to get on track again.

We also do not have to deal with bullying, peer pressure to do drugs or any of the social negativity that go on in the High School. She would be in the Freshman Center this year, and well where we live teen pregnancy is rampant, and I have personally witnessed teachers walking past students who were displaying way too much attention to each other. I expect that when my child is in school that the teachers pay attention to both their teaching of my child and the behavior my child is having. It takes a village to raise a child - African Proverb, and Hilary Clinton. So, if it takes a village...why does it always seem we are alone at it? I can honestly say, that the teachers at 21st CCCS are wonderful with helping and making sure they have time for both us as parents and Jess as a student. All of the activities and field trips we take always has a teacher from each department at it so that we can interact with them and get information and any help we may have.

There is a lot of things our kids go through on a day to day basis that is totally unnecessary, its good to know that cyber schools are available now and that we can take advantage of them.
